Susan Philipsz is an artist living and working in Berlin. In her works Philips explores the emotive and psychological properties of sound in relation to cultural and social context in which the works appear. Her recent solo exhibitions include Stay With Me, Malmö Konsthall (2005), Büro Friedrich, Berlin (2005), Kunstverein Arnsberg (2004), Art Pace Foundation, San Antonio (2003), and Temple Bar Galleries & Studios, Dublin (2002). Philipsz was included in Of Mice And Men, the 4th Berlin Biennial (2006), The Pantagruel Syndrome, T1 Torino Triennale Tremusei (2005), Untitled (As Yet), The 6th Yugoslav Biennial of Young Artists (2004), Days Like These, Tate Triennial, London (2003), and Manifesta 3, Ljubljana (2000). She has been shortlisted for the Beck's Futures Prize in 2004, and for the Glen Dimplex Artist Award in 2001. Forthcoming solo exhibitions include Mitzuma Gallery, Tokyo (2006) and Centre pour l'Image Contemporaine, Geneva (2007). Philipsz will take part in Busan Biennial (2006) and Skulptur Projekte Münster (2007).

Sinisa Mitrovic is an independent curator and critic currently based in Glasgow. His recent curatorial projects include New Work UK 4: Bastards, The Whitechapel Art Gallery, London (2006), Unfinished Business, Museum of Contemporary Art, Belgrade (2006), and Untitled (As Yet), The 6th Yugoslav Biennial of Young Artists (2004). He has written extensively for a number of magazines and exhibition catalogues, and is one of the founding editors of Prelom – A Journal for Contemporary Art & Theory from Belgrade. In 2005 he was the editor of yeah…..you, baby you (Milton Keynes & Brighton: Milton Keynes Gallery / Shady Lane Publications), a monograph on work of British artist Phil Collins which won the Art Newspaper & AXA Art Exhibition Catalogue Award.
